Nehrwr (pronounced "nay-wah")Abdul-Wahid is currently the Lead Consultant with One Ummah Consulting, an organizational consulting group which focuses on multicultural competence and work team effectiveness. His philosophy of authentic community building has led to national recognition of some of the programs and students he worked with as Training Coordinator of the University of Minnesota’s Diversity Institute. In almost 12 years at the Diversity Institute Nehrwr used a wide range of programs and services to enhance and promote the climate for diversity at the University. Building off the incredible knowledge and experience afforded to him during his time at the University.

Nehrwr went on to form One Ummah Consulting with the hope of bringing that knowledge and experience to businesses, organizations and educational institutions looking for new and innovative ways leverage the changing demographics of our communities and improve their success.
Nehrwr identifies himself as a “facilitator of much needed dialogue.” His client list includes the Blandin Foundation, Best Buy, Honeywell, Lockheed-Martin, and the City of Dubuque. Social service agencies such as Big Brothers Bigs Sisters of America, Alexandra House and YouthLink. And various educational institutions such as Macalester College, Southwest Minnesota State University, University of Michigan, Itasca Community College, Carleton College and high schools throughout the state of Minnesota. His work has garnered national coverage with a front-page feature story in USA Today. He has consulted nationally with schools and organizations across the country.
Nehrwr is a highly sought after motivational speaker, trainer and consultant. His ability to encourage and assist with self-reflection and authentic dialogue has allowed participants in his workshops to develop a unique understanding of the value of diversity and build concrete skills to use both interpersonally and organizationally. Nehrwr’'s educational background includes degrees and studies in mathematics, business administration, educational policy and administration, urban studies and Arabic. He is a certified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) as well as the Intercultural Conflict Styles (ICS) inventory. He also has extensive experience and training in conflict mediation, leadership development and team-building. His path has taken him from math education to community education as he strives to build upon the principle that "“change begins with individuals in their pursuit to transform themselves and ultimately the world around them."”
